‘Nuts In April’ was the aptly-named 1943 revue. It was directed by ‘Mrs Stephen Bundy’.
Remarkably, as the Second World War continued, so too did Student Show, continuing its annual appearance at His Majesty’s Theatre all through the conflict. This was despite some wartime limitations in the availability of props and costumes.
In 1943, all the costumes had to be provided on a mere 10 clothing coupons – quite a feat for Alice Sparke and her team in the wardrobe department, also known at this time as ‘Heaven’
(so named as it was situated in the North West Tower of Marischal College.)
